Let me start by thanking and appreciating your ambition and activeness through the SPE Abu Dhabi Section, without your efforts and commitment we will not reach our current well recognized standing today. We look forward to work toward a remarkable transformation of the society into influential organization developing the petroleum community in the country.
I am honored to chair the section for the 2018-2019 seasons; the organization had already been running its programs and activities at very high pace certainly an exciting period that we need to keep up with. This season marks 33 years of establishment of SPE Abu Dhabi Section and the top three areas of “technology , efficiency and sustainability” will direct our technical program subjects.
The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Abu Dhabi section has a long history of success as a source of propagation of technical know-how to the Abu Dhabi Oil and Gas community. The technical events also double as social networking events to those who attend its many functions. This year’s Abu Dhabi Board comprises of a mix of both experienced and young men and women from the industry who will endeavor to replicate the successes of the past years and aim to excel even further.
This year we will strengthen our communications by establishing the website and other social media channels. A few notable Section-hosted events will include the distinguish lecturer and youth event that will set us geared up and ready. Another busy year lies ahead, preview of some of the Section’s events include: three technical event one to be held in in Khalifa University. It is important to stress our strong ties to the student chapter with not only technical events but also supporting their planned events this season. Also we are lunching membership campaign through lump sum registration across ADNOC group. Online registration for these and other Section events are available via the Abu Dhabi Section website. Furthermore, as part of our efforts to improve we are lunching Energy4Me which will target high school student exposure to the industry. Members of the board and myself will also be meeting with Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency in order to lunch an outdoor environmental “CSR” event.
As always, if there are any questions or desire for further involvement in Section activities, please do not hesitate to reach out to Abu Dhabi Section Board members and a introductory presentation will be given to all board members in the coming days. We look forward to a successful season that we maximize the members’ experience of knowledge sharing networking holding to SPE proud legacy.
